Vurdalak and the Barometz
Vurdalak stumbled across the Barometz in the spring of 2008.
Before this time, we were not even aware of the fact something this cool existed. As said before, this soon changed, when in the spring of 2008, we stumbled across our first Barometz.
At first we were amazed and dazzled by the creature’s strange appearance, but these feelings quickly made place for (and I think you can honestly speak of) a love at first sight, one of the kind you rarely see in real live. At the moment we saw this wondrous creature (or is it plant? Maybe I should just write down “phenomenon”) we knew that, to quote Michael Jackson, "This Was It". A phenomenon that combines all of these insanely cool traits into one, bleating, wooly, half plant-half animal, that’s amazingly cool.
From that moment on, Vurdalak has been carrying images of the Barometz as a banner of the band and as a symbol of what the band stands for. Due to its amazing beauty and exquisite appearance, the Barometz has also featured on several flyers, band posters, and is sure to appear on several future pieces of Vurdalak merchandise.
Our love of this creature/plant grew so big, that in the end, we saw no other option but to write a song about it. And the song "Barometz" was born. An ode to the sheep-plant. Even though the song is still under the influence of constant re-arrangements and re-compositions, we are sure to speak of a masterpiece.
We think the Barometz is realy cool.
