The Heartbeat of Vurdalak
As Vurdalaks sound developed, there came a moment when Djembe
Jesse’s thumping rythmitude did no longer provide enough
punch to sufficiently carry the weight of Vurdalak’s heavy
folk thrashgrooves. Luckily, Tristan the bassman had a love for sitting
down, and especially sitting down while tapping his ever-restless feet
to the beat of Vurdalak’s blood-red music meat. Searching his
cabin for something bashable, he stumbled across an ancient chest,
empty, but oddly enticing. It bore the mysterious name of R. Bloomer on
its front. Tristan knew that he needed this chest. He went to a small
music shop situated in an even smaller mountain village to the north of
Amsterdam, where he bought an ancient Scandinavian pedal-hammer,
supposedly containing a shard from the hammer of Thor himself. Tristan,
however, didn’t believe in such nonsense, and knew better
than to agree to the astronomical, not to mention mythical price named
by the shopkeeper. The hammer was purchased, for reasonable payment.
Back at home Tristan placed the hammer in front of the box, which was
now turned on its side, and brought his foot down hard.
The heartbeat of Vurdalak was born. |
