You are such a n00b!
A "n00b" or "noob" (without the 0/o substitution) is the name that the internet community uses to describe someone who seems to lack any skills in doing a particular thing. Being called a n00b has a degrading character, which accuses the other person of not knowing what he or she is doing or what he or she is talking about. Calling yourself a n00b shows that you're in a submissive state.
The word originated from the word "Newbie" or "New Boy", which was originally used by british students and US soldier fighting in the Vietnam war to describe a soldier or student who is inexperienced. The term, however, was quickly picked up by the internet community who started using it to make a division between the "hardcore" and the "softcore" users of digital services. The word actually became so big, that on the 10th of June 2009, the word has been accepted into the official lexicon of English Language.
The strange thing with the word " n00b" is that many people use the word, but not a single person willingly admits he or she thinks the word is cool. This has lead to enormous online community in which all apparently use this word, and yet no one thinks it is cool to do so.
While the Vurdalak Encyclopedia wholly agrees that the word is very stupid, we find it hard to imagine that an entire community would still embrace it in such a way as it did, while never using it as a serious curse-word.
